Brief Objective
The study aimed to evaluate the Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana (KPSY) with the following specific objectives:
- Assessing the health services provided to the beneficiaries of Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana.
- Evaluating the expenditure and utilization of funds provided to KPSY beneficiaries
- Examining the awareness and knowledge of beneficiaries regarding the Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana
Benefits
Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana is designed for pregnant mothers below the poverty line in both urban and rural areas. It provides maternity benefits for up to three children. However, it’s important to note that this scheme is applicable only in those districts where the Indira Gandhi Maternity Cooperation Scheme is not being implemented. In such districts, mothers who are not beneficiaries of the Indira Gandhi scheme will be eligible to receive benefits from this program.
A cash support of Rs. 6,000 will be given to all the BPL mothers under this scheme.
Eligibility
Building on the success of the ‘MA Yojana’ for BPL families, we’ve now expanded the scheme. Now, all women and their children (up to 21 years old) from families earning less than Rs. 1.20 lakh per year can benefit from the Kasturba Poshan Sahay Yojana. This means more support for those who need it most!
