After Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, the beautiful country of “Indonesia” is also planning to give free visas to Indian citizens. The Indonesian Tourist Ministry also says that they will approve this within a month. Not just India but also travelers from other 20 countries are going to get free visas for Indonesia.
Indonesia’s Tourist Minister, Sandiaga Uno, said that this step is taken so that more tourists visit Indonesia, which will enrich the economy of the country. He also added that they are looking for travelers who stay for a longer time in the country, as it will increase the local spending, attract investment, and help in the growth of economy.
Apart from India, other countries like Australia, China, South Korea, the USA, the UK, France, and Germany may also get free visas to Indonesia. Currently, 25 countries are allowing Indians to visit without a visa to their countries. The same was done by Thailand, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka recently.
Before the pandemic, over 16 million foreigners visited Indonesia in 2019. From January to October this year, about 9.49 million foreign tourists visited Indonesia, which is a big increase from last year. This visa-free entry could make Indonesia even more popular for tourists and that is the reason they have taken this great decision.
