Captain Rohit Sharma made a clever call to check out a decision against Heinrich Klassen. He was absolutely right, and South Africa was in trouble at 40 for 3 wickets.
All of India’s bowlers did a great work, even though Jasprit Bumrah was not successful in getting any wickets. Kuldeep Yadav came on to bowl and did well when South Africa was losing at 64 for 6 wickets. Rohit’s smart thinking was proven right once again when Mohammed Shami and KL Rahul asked the umpire to review a play, and Rassie van der Dussen was out. That was a hard time for the South Africans player.
It was hard for the South African players to chase India’s big target of 327. Mohammad Shami, who knows the Eden Garden ground well, played brilliantly, just like he has been in the past World Cup.
The pitch in Kolkata helps the spin bowlers the most, and Jadeja used that as an advantage to show why he’s important for India in the World Cup. Alongside Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowling tightly and not giving away many runs to the South African players, Jadeja’s bowling at the right time helped team India a lot. India’s bowlers were way too strong, and they won by 243 runs, making a tremendous point in the World Cup 2023.
