Draupadi Murmu is India’s 15th President, and she is known for her amazing journey from a simple background to a high political position. She was born in a small village in Odisha and worked as a teacher and also in the irrigation department. Her political career started with the BJP in 1997, and she was a councilor in Rairangpur. She played an important role in the BJP in Odisha and was elected to the Odisha assembly twice. Murmu served as a minister in the Odisha government and was recognized as an outstanding legislative member.
Despite personal challenges, including the loss of her husband and two sons, Murmu remained strong throughout the tough phase. She made history as the first woman governor of Jharkhand, the first tribal governor of a tribal state, and the first woman from Odisha to be a governor. Presently, she is motivated and supported by her only daughter, who works in a bank, and also by her son-in-law, a rugby player.
